This course is part of the Mind Makers Masterclass: The Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Module 2) and is available exclusively to students enrolled in this program. The course spans 2 semesters.
Module Content:
Winter Semester 1: Entrepreneurship & Leadership
This semester begins with an in-person kick-off event designed to help students get to know one another and build teams. The module includes several lectures and guest presentations in online sessions held every 14 days, coaching, and two mid term presentations and a closing event. Working in teams, participants tackle a real-world strategic consulting project for a company. In the process, they learn to structure a project into sub-tasks, conduct independent research and analysis, document their findings in reports, and present them to the company.
Summer Semester 2: Deep Dive into Business Development
The second semester focuses on the participants’ own projects. Participants have the option of either delving deeper into the project topic from Module 3 from a business management perspective or working on a new project. To support this, the course covers topics such as startup financing and investment, business administration, and legal knowledge, as well as user research, marketing, and sales.
The Moodle course is used to organize collaboration, coordinate teams and their work, schedule meetings, provide professional input (e.g. on marketing aspects) so well as additional materials and information.
The course is made available through the VHB to both HSWT students and students from the other participating universities.
